CAbC: A Temple of Knowledge

Prof. M.S. Swaminathan, the founder of CAbC, envisioned the Centre “to serve as a temple of knowledge in the area of  conservation, and  sustainable and equitable use of biodiversity, specifically agro-biodiversity”. As a Centre, we stand for an eco-sensitive self-reliant society empowered in conservation and sustainable & equitable utilization of  biodiversity.

Our mission is to achieve social prosperity through conservation, enhancement and sustainable & equitable use of biodiversity by adopting economically viable, ecologically sensitive, socially inclusive and equity approaches and process in development, research
and technology dissemination.

So the vision and mission of the Centre is to address the pertinent issue of sustainable agriculture rural development through agrobiodiversity.
